Artwork Preparation Guide

Prepare your artwork files for submission by following our Artwork Guidelines and the details found below. Need a hand preparing your artwork? We can help. Cut Line (Black Lines):

Indicates the cut at its final size. Important artwork and text should be placed at least 0.125 inches inside of the cut line.

Perforation (Dotted Black Lines):

Perforation line refers to paper that is punched with very small holes to allow the paper to be torn and folded easily.

Bleed Line (Green Lines):

Indicates where the bleed line is located. Any artwork which goes to the cut line should be extended to the bleed line to get a seamless print.

Safety Margin (Dotted Green Lines):

Indicates where artwork and text should safely be placed inside. As an industry standard, all artwork should at least be placed 0.125 inches away from the cut line unless your design is intentional.

Crease Line (Red Lines)

Indicates where the product is to be folded.

Time to Make a Custom Dieline
In the packaging world, a dieline is an artwork template that ensures that the design of your package is laid out correctly before going into production. It is a flat diagram with markings that indicate where the package’s fold and cut lines are. As soon as we’ve received your payment, our packaging wizards will prepare your dieline file and send it over for review within 1-2 business days.

Get Creative with Artwork
Add your artwork to your shiny new dieline template file. Make sure to follow our Artwork Guidelines as you start designing, so we can apply the artwork to your template. These guidelines ensure that the file format and the settings of your artwork (colors, font type, font size, and images) will be ready for mass production.

Visualize Your Packaging with Mockups
Once you’re happy with your template’s design, our team will prepare a 2D and 3D rendering of your packaging for a final review. This allows you to visualize precisely how your custom box will look once printed. This stage is your last opportunity to proofread the text on the box or check for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors before mass production, make sure to double check! If you’d like to determine whether your chosen material has the feel you want to achieve, we can ship a box sample to you.
